HiveCampus compared with Entab, Fedena and the rest.
HiveCampus is school management software for small and mid-sized private schools in Chennai and across India, priced at a flat ₹25,000 to ₹55,000 per school per year depending on size, never per student. It covers attendance, homework, announcements with read receipts, leave, fee tracking, timetable, exams, report cards and an AI Analyser, through a web portal and an Android app for parents and teachers.
It is not a full ERP out of the box: online payments, bus tracking, biometric attendance and payroll are not in the product today. What is different is that any of them can be scoped and built for your school as a module, at a fraction of what an enterprise vendor charges to switch the same thing on. Everything below is sourced and linked, as checked on 8 September 2026: the vendor's own page where it publishes a price, and a named third-party report where it does not.
The short version
- Of the six products on this page, two publish a price. HiveCampus and Fedena. Entab, MyClassboard, Vidyalaya and Edunext all require a sales conversation before you learn what they cost, so §01 shows what third parties report for them, each figure attributed to its source.
- Against the one competitor that does publish, HiveCampus is half to a third of the price. ₹25,000 against Fedena's ₹50,000 + GST web-only plan, or ₹75,000 + GST for its cheapest plan that includes a mobile app, which HiveCampus includes at every tier.
- The price is flat per school, per year. It does not move when you enrol more children. Entab's own page says its figure depends on “the strength of the school”.
- The parent app, the AI Analyser and every module are included at every tier. No per-module upsell, no per-view AI charge, no setup fee.
- Anything not in the product gets built as a module. Online payments, WhatsApp, bus tracking, biometric, admissions: none are in it today, and all of them are a conversation away. You talk to the developers, so custom work is priced accordingly. §03 has the list.

Entab's own page titled “School Management Software Price” states no figure, saying only that it “depends on various factors” and, for CampusSoft, on “the strength of the school”. ₹35,000 is the reported entry figure; a second 2026 comparison reports an annual licence of ₹1.5–8 lakh plus a one-time implementation fee of ₹75,000–₹2,50,000, and puts total first-year cost for a 1,000-student school at ₹3–10 lakh.

Vidyalaya

At 300 students that is ₹18,000 to ₹1,80,000 a year, before choosing modules.

No vendor or third-party figure exists for it specifically, so the range shown is simply the reported Indian market rate of ₹100–₹500 per student per year applied to a 300-student school. A note on being fair: Fedena's prices are published with GST stated separately and are reproduced that way. The four unpublished figures are what a named third party reports, not a number we worked out and not the vendor's quote to you. Check them against what you are actually quoted, and tell us if any is wrong: the sourcing for every one of them is set out at the foot of this page. The ERPs above also ship modules HiveCampus does not carry as standard (payroll, transport, hostel, library, online payment), which we build to order instead, so a like-for-like comparison holds only for the school day HiveCampus already covers. §02 and §03 set out both sides.
§02Where each one wins
Every product here beats HiveCampus at something.
Drawn from each vendor's own published module list. Most of what they have and we don't, we can build for you (§03), but if you need ten of those modules live next month rather than built to order, one of these is the better buy, and we will tell you so on the call.
Entab (CampusCare)
Best forLarge, established schools that want one vendor for everything.
The broadest scope of the five, out of the box: transport and GPS, hostel, library, HR and payroll, inventory, lesson planning and online fee payment, alongside the academic modules. It states 1,500+ schools on its platform. If you want all of that already built and switched on from day one, it is there.
The trade-off: You cannot find out what it costs without a sales conversation, and its own pricing page says the figure scales with your student strength.
Fedena
Best forSchools that want a very large module count and are comfortable at a ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 annual list price.
The only competitor here that publishes its prices. Credit where it is due: that is more transparency than the rest of the category offers. Huge module library, unlimited users on every tier, and an Enterprise plan that hands over source-code access, which nobody else on this page does.
The trade-off: The mobile app is not in the entry plan. Fedena's cheapest tier that includes one is ₹75,000 + GST, three times the HiveCampus Small price, where the parent and teacher app is included at every tier.
MyClassboard
Best forMulti-campus groups with admissions, payroll and transport to run.
Strong administrative breadth (admissions, HR and payroll, library, GPS transport, online fee collection with digital receipts) and scale, at a claimed ~2,500 schools across 120 cities.
The trade-off: No published price; every quote goes through sales.
Vidyalaya
Best forSchools already committed to biometric hardware, SMS and Tally.

§03What's in it, and what we'll build
Everything on the left is included. Everything on the right, we'll build.
The right-hand column is not a list of refusals. It is what isn't in the product today. Tell us which of it your school actually needs, we scope it, agree a price and build it. Because you are talking to the three people who write the software rather than a vendor's change-request desk, a custom module costs a fraction of what an enterprise ERP charges to switch the same thing on.

Not in it today, built on request
Nothing here is a permanent no. Ask, and we scope it.
- Online / UPI fee payment. Fees are tracked and receipted today. Letting parents pay by UPI from inside the app is an add-on module we build on request, scoped and priced separately from the annual fee.
- WhatsApp and SMS alerts. Notices go out as push with read receipts today. A WhatsApp or SMS channel can be built alongside.
- Bus tracking and GPS. Not in the product today. It is a module we can scope and build, and at a fraction of what an ERP charges for it.
- Biometric or RFID attendance. Attendance is marked by a teacher in the app today. Device integration can be added.
- Admissions and enquiry CRM. Not built yet. A common request, and a straightforward one to add.
- Payroll, HR, hostel, library, inventory. None of these are in the product today. Each can be built as a module if your school needs it.
- Online classes and in-app chat. Not built. Announcements are one-way by design today, but that is a choice we can revisit for your school.
- More Indian languages in the app. The parent and teacher app already ships English, Tamil and Hindi. Another language is a translation pass we can add.
Two things are product design rather than a gap, so they are not on the list: students have no login of their own (a student is a record; parents and teachers are the personas), and homework is set and due only: nothing tracks submitted or completed work.
§04Parent–teacher communication
The part HiveCampus was actually built around.
Most school software treats parent communication as one module among thirty. It is the centre of this product, and these are the specific mechanisms, each one demonstrable in a demo rather than a claim you have to take on trust.
You can see who actually read it
Every announcement carries a per-parent read receipt, and an admin can push a reminder to only the parents who have not opened it. A WhatsApp group cannot tell you this, and neither can an SMS blast.
The app will not let an unread notice be skipped
The parent app has a startup gate: it holds at the notice until unread announcements have been seen. This is the piece that most often decides it for schools tired of “we never got the message”.
One login, every child
A parent with three children at the school signs in once and switches between them. No second account, no second password to reset.
Parents can act, not just read
Leave requests, full day or half day, are submitted from the app and approved or rejected by the teacher in two taps, with the record kept. Announcements are acknowledged, which is what generates the read receipts.
Notifications parents control
Per-type notification preferences across homework, announcements, report cards, events, attendance, leave, fees and holidays, so the channel does not get muted wholesale, which is what happens to a group chat.
Marked once, visible immediately
Attendance is recorded by the teacher between classes and the parent is notified as it is saved. Nothing is re-entered at the end of term.

Modules switch off per school
Fees, AI Analyser, Attendance, Homework, Exams, Timetable, Leaves, Announcements, Events and Holidays each toggle on or off per school. Turn one off and it disappears from the sidebar entirely: no locked page, no upsell prompt, no change to the price.
No per-module pricing
Every module ships on every tier, so there is no “Standard vs Premium” line hiding the feature you need behind a higher plan. The AI Analyser carries no per-view charge either: it makes zero AI model calls by design, on any tier, at any time.

Choose HiveCampus
if you run a private school of roughly 100 to 1,500 students, your real problems are parent communication, attendance and chasing fee dues, and you want a published flat price plus the ability to have a missing module actually built for you by the people who wrote the software. Flat ₹25,000–₹55,000 a year, everything included, and a missing module becomes a scope, a price and a date rather than a no.
Choose Entab, MyClassboard or Vidyalaya
if you need transport and GPS tracking, hostel management, payroll, a library system or biometric attendance live and configured from day one, across many campuses. HiveCampus builds those as modules rather than shipping them as standard, so if you need ten of them at once, they are further ahead. Be ready for a sales call to find out the price.
Choose Fedena
if you want the largest module count with a published price and are comfortable at ₹50,000–₹1,00,000 + GST a year, or if source-code access on its Enterprise plan matters to you.

Is HiveCampus cheaper than Entab or Fedena?
Against Fedena the figures are public on both sides: HiveCampus Small is ₹25,000 a year against Fedena's ₹50,000 + GST Standard plan, or ₹75,000 + GST for Fedena Premium, its cheapest plan that includes a mobile app, where HiveCampus includes the parent and teacher app on every tier. Entab, MyClassboard, Vidyalaya and Edunext publish nothing, so no exact comparison is possible; third parties report Entab from ₹35,000 a year (and, in one 2026 comparison, ₹1.5–8 lakh in licence plus ₹75,000–₹2,50,000 setup) and Edunext from ₹30,000, while Vidyalaya's own site puts the Indian market rate at ₹5–₹50 per student per month, which is ₹18,000–₹1,80,000 a year at 300 students. Those are reported figures, attributed on the page, not quotes we obtained. Verified 8 September 2026.
What does HiveCampus cost for a school of 300 students?
₹25,000 per year for the Small tier, which covers schools up to 300 students. The price is flat per school, so a 300-student school pays the same as a 30-student one. Medium (301–700) is ₹37,000 and Large (701–1,500) is ₹55,000 per year. There is no per-student charge, no per-teacher charge, no setup fee and no per-module upsell.
Why does flat pricing matter compared to per-student pricing?
Because per-student pricing means your software bill grows every time you enrol a child, and the number is only knowable after a sales call. A flat annual fee is the same figure in year one and year three, you can budget it before you ever speak to us, and it is published on this site.
Does HiveCampus handle online or UPI fee payment?
Not as standard. Fees are tracked rather than collected: categories, class defaults, per-student overrides, a payment ledger, a defaulters list and automated due reminders, with payments recorded by an admin or cashier, and no card or bank details ever held. UPI payment inside the parent app is our most-requested add-on module: if your school wants it, tell us on the call and you get a scope, a price and a date. It is quoted separately from the annual fee.
Does HiveCampus integrate with WhatsApp or send SMS?
Not out of the box. Notices go out as push notifications with per-parent read receipts and a remind-unread push, which is what a WhatsApp group and an SMS blast cannot give you. If your school wants a WhatsApp or SMS channel alongside that, it is a module we can add. Ask, and we will price it.
Can HiveCampus do bus tracking or biometric attendance?
Neither is in the product today, and both are modules we can build. Bus and GPS tracking in particular is a common ask and we can do it after a discussion, at a fraction of what an enterprise ERP charges for the same thing, because you are commissioning it directly from the people who write the code, with no reseller or change-request tier in between.
Does HiveCampus support Tamil or Hindi?
Yes. The parent and teacher mobile app switches its interface between English (the default), Tamil and Hindi, chosen per device. The web admin portals are English-only today; another Indian language in the app is a translation pass we can add on request.
What is the AI Analyser, and does it cost extra per use?
It is a written monthly read on a student, a section, the whole school or the whole estate: attendance trends, who is slipping, what changed. It is included in every tier at no extra cost, and opening it makes zero AI model calls: the figures are recomputed in SQL each time the page opens, and the written summary is produced once a month by a batch job. There is no per-view or per-query charge, ever.
Can HiveCampus build a module we need that is not in the list?
Yes. This is the core of the offer, not an exception to it. Features ship as modules switched on or off per school, and anything missing is built to order. You are talking to the three people who write the software, not a reseller or a support tier, so scope, price and turnaround are agreed with the developer on the call and custom work is priced far below what an enterprise vendor bills for it. Is HiveCampus a full school ERP?
Not out of the box. What ships today is the school day that parents and teachers touch: attendance, homework, announcements, leave, fee tracking, timetable, exams, report cards and the AI Analyser. Payroll, HR, hostel, library, inventory, transport and admissions are not included as standard: they are modules we build for a school that needs them. If you want all of that already live on day one across several campuses, a full ERP such as Entab is further ahead.
Who supports the product after we buy it?
The people who built it. There is no call centre, no reseller and no support ticket queue. A founder replies within one working day, and schools in and around Chennai can have an in-person onboarding session rather than only a video call.
Which schools is HiveCampus the right choice for?
Small and mid-sized private schools, roughly 100 to 1,500 students, on CBSE, matriculation or Tamil Nadu state board, whose real problem is parent communication, attendance and fee follow-up rather than transport logistics or payroll, and who want to know the price before booking a call.

Where the unpublished figures come from
Entab, MyClassboard, Vidyalaya and Edunext publish no price. The figures shown for them are not ours: they are what these sources report, listed here so you can weigh them yourself. Two are competitors of the vendors they describe, which is worth knowing. Check them against the quote you are actually given.
